Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) Pick up transfer to Hotel in Arusha

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) your Tour Guide will pick you and transferred to Arusha to recover from your journey and, if you’re lucky, to catch a glimpse of the spectacular Kilimanjaro which rises from the clouds above town. When you get to your Hotel you will be briefed about your safari then the rest of your Day will be at Leisure.

Day 2: Arusha to Arusha National Park

Today you will go for your first actual game drive, in Arusha National Park! This park close to Arusha is known for its abundance of tropical birds, the presence of the black and white Colobus monkey and some rare albino baboons. You will probably spot the Colobus monkey and some rare bird species such as the gorgeous Silvery Cheeked Hornbill, and, if you are very lucky, even an albino. The park also has a lake, a few craters, waterfalls, mountains, and beautiful grassy planes.

Day 3: Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Earlier in the morning after breakfast the tour departs. First stop is Arusha Town for any last minute purchases before we head off on a safari. Afterwards we head towards the Tarangire National Park for a game drive with picnic lunch at the park. Tarangire is well known for its huge elephant population and baobab trees. It forms the center of an annual migratory cycle that includes up to 3000 elephants, 25,000 wildebeest and 30,000 zebras. Late evening after game drives you will be driven to the Lodge for Dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Lake Manyara National Park

Lake Manyara National Park lies between Tarangire National Park and the Ngorongoro Crater, right along the 400 meters deep Great Rift Valley. The park boasts a variety of landscapes that attract many different animals. You can for example visit the lake, pass through a dense rainforest with hundreds of monkeys and birds, see elephants up close in the woodlands and visit the renowned Manyara hippo pool with many hippos bathing from early morning to late evening.

Day 5: Karatu to Serengeti National Park

Earlier in the morning after breakfast you will be picked up from the lodge and Drive to Serengeti National Park, via the beautiful high lying farmland of Karatu then Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Leaving the highlands behind, we descend into the heart of wild Africa - the endless of Serengeti National park, rolling into the distance as far as the eye can see. We head to the central park area, known as the Seronera area, one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park, featuring the Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source to this area and therefore attracts wildlife well representative of most of the Serengeti's species. We arrive in time for lunch and enjoy an afternoon game drive in the Serengeti National Park.

Day 6: Full Day Game Drives in Serengeti National Park

Choose between a leisurely breakfast or embark on full-day game drives starting at 9:00 AM with a packed lunch, returning by 6:00 PM. Alternatively, opt for an early 6:00 AM game drive, followed by breakfast and relaxation before an afternoon game drive with lunch. Today's expedition explores the central Serengeti, famed for its abundant lion and leopard populations. The Seronera area, enriched by the Seronera River, boasts diverse wildlife year-round. Keep an eye out for lion prides, especially during migration off-season, ensuring a thrilling game viewing experience. Enjoy a picnic lunch during the full-day drive, concluding around 5:00 PM, followed by a hearty dinner and a peaceful night's rest in your accommodation.

Day 7: Game Drives in Serengeti and Transfer to Ngorongoro Area

After breakfast you will go for a half day game drives in Serengeti National Park then after Lunch you departs to Ngorongoro Conservation area for dinner and overnight. Ngorongoro is a special conservation area and not a National Park. The whole area is managed for both animals and local Maasai people who graze their cattle alongside the indigenous wildlife.

Day 8: Safari in Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha

Get up Earlier in the morning around 6:00am for Breakfast then descend to the crater floor for game drive. You can expect to see lions, elephants, Zebras, Hippos, Flamingos, Jackals, Rhinos Antelopes and many birds. The birds seen here include eagle, vulture, and flamingos in the Crater Lake, stork, bats, giant vulture, sacred ibis, kori bustard, blacksmith plover, long necked heron and the cattle eagle. Post the picnic lunch at the beautiful Hippo pool, you will begin a steep ascend to the top exit of the crater. With a 2hr drive left to Karatu the day will come to a close, Late afternoon you will be driven to the Lodge for Dinner and Overnight.

Day 9: Materuni Waterfalls and Chemka Hot spring Tour

Embark on a journey led by our English-speaking guide to Materuni Village, home of the Chagga people, a mere 15km from Moshi Town and the last village before Kilimanjaro National Park. Begin with a scenic walk to the majestic waterfalls, where you'll learn about Chagga culture, village life, and the local flora and fauna. Enjoy a refreshing swim before returning for a traditional Chagga lunch and a taste of local banana beer. Dive into the coffee experience next, participating in the cultivation, roasting, and grinding of coffee beans amidst traditional Chagga songs and dances. Savor the freshly brewed coffee before heading to the Kikuletwa Hot Springs for an afternoon of relaxation. Bask in the sun, mingle with locals, or take a dip in the springs. As the day draws to a close, we return you to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your journey home, enriched by the cultural and natural wonders of Tanzania.

Day 10: Transfer from Planet lodge to Arusha or Kilimanjaro Airport

The last day! Depending on your flight time, you can relax in the lodge a bit longer before our driver takes you to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for your flight home. Having second thoughts? It's also possible to add a few days to your holiday by going to one of Tanzania's paradise islands.
