Tour overview

This vast area, which used to be a hunting ground for Europeans during the 1800s, is home to members of many different tribes, peacefully co-existing as neighbors. Although the game has long since migrated, it is still a haven to many animal species, including a variety of birds. When you reach Kikuletwa it will appear as an oasis surrounded by sprawling fig trees, in the middle of this semi-arid landscape.

Day 1: Kikuletwa or Chemka Hotspring avdenture

After breakfast, your Driver will pick you up for the 1.5-hour drive from Arusha to Chemka Hotspring via Arusha-Moshi Road. Initially on paved road, the journey transitions to gravel after about an hour, leading through stunning African countryside with bushland, dry riverbeds, baobab, and acacia trees.

Upon reaching Kikuletwa, it resembles an oasis amid sprawling fig trees in the semi-arid landscape. Crystal clear water bubbles from underground caves, earning it the name "Hot Springs." Take a refreshing dip if you brought your bathing suit and relax in the shade. After a picnic lunch, we'll return to Moshi via gravel roads, passing Kilavu river and sugar cane plantations before arriving back in Arusha late afternoon.
